The primary concern of the journal is the application of economic theory and methods to environmental issues and problems across a range of spatial and temporal scales up to the global dimension. Areas of particular interest include: the development and evaluation of environmental policy instruments and institutions; cost benefit analysis; modelling and simulation; the valuation of preferences for environmental goods; environmental quality indicators; etc.
The journal encourages a pluralistic approach to both theoretical and applied contributions as well as interdisciplinary work with all areas of the natural and social sciences.
